Our take: Heady Topper is sometimes referred to as the best beer in the world. Without question it is one of the most popular, almost “cult-like” beers talked about across the United States. This Double IPA brewed by The Alchemist put the Vermont beer scene on the map and is the inspiration for many of the other regional breweries and what they make. The classic “Drink from the Can” messaging also led to the trend of breweries increasingly going with a 4-pack of 16-oz. cans rather than 6-packs of cans or bottles. Heady Topper used to be hard to find, but with the opening of The Alchemist Visitor’s Center in Stowe, you can wait in line and most days get a 4-pack or a case.
