Ok folks, instead of traveling all over Vermont researching the finest breweries and beer in the country (world?), it is all coming to me, the Cicerone, at the annual Stowe Brewers Festival on August 3rd and 4th in Stowe, Vermont! The event will be held at the Stowe Events Field, just off Mountain Road (Rt. 108) on Weeks Hill Road (across from the Swimming Hole).
Vermont beer, hard cider, spirits, food and entertainment will combine with classic Vermont scenery for a relaxed and fun atmosphere. There will be scores of my favorite brewers, some close to home, others from more distant parts.
I spoke to one of the organizers of this year’s event, Jeremy Garrett.
Cicerone: “Jeremy, how did the Stowe Brewers Festival originate?”
Jeremy: “The festival began in 2015 as a celebration of the many craft beers and ciders that call the Stowe area and Vermont home. However, we’ve expanded in the following years to add great out-of-state brews, as well as feature several Vermont wineries and distillers. This year – our 4th – we’ll have 40 companies representing 120 varieties of craft beer, cider, mead, wine and spirits.”
C: “What makes this particular festival unique?”
J: “Several things make the Stowe Brewfest unique: 1) Besides offering attendees 15 samples of beer and cider per session, we also offer them 5 samples of wine, spirits and cocktails from Vermont wineries and distillers. 2) We showcase live, original music from up-and-coming bands such as Peace In the Valley, My Mother’s Moustache, and The Pilgrims. 3) We feature a great selection of 40 food trucks and vendors that attendees can visit, eat, get samples, and purchase craft-brew related items.”
